Agile and DevOps Manager

Description

  • Servant leader and coach to a cross-functional agile team, ensuring all activities use the principles and frameworks of Agile (e.g., Scrum, Kanban and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)) to deliver solutions.

  • Establishes lean/agile leadership, supports the Product Owner, and promotes quality practices; Skilled at Scrum practices of estimation and prioritization using agile techniques.

  • Guides and coaches team members on agile practices & provides developmental feedback to team members using a servant leadership style and leading by example.

  • Fosters an environment of mutual respect and cooperation, transparency, and autonomy; facilitates getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.

  • Drives adoption of agile reducing the gap between agile theory and practice; drives continuous improvement.

  • Establishes key metrics and monitors agile metrics that impact value driven delivery and indicate potential problems; Ensures all solution documentation is complete (Definition of Done).

  • Establishes and communicates team progress and goals using program boards, burn-up, burn-down or other methods.

  • Supports team rules and norms and protects the team from outside interference; removes impediments for the team or finds the right personnel to remove impediments.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead team to followagile/DevOps mindset and practices to develop, enhance, and maintain Cummins Digital applications and programs.

  • Coach and facilitate multiple dev teams, product owners and product managers to improve team/organization agile maturity.

  • Participatein tech and product innovation, cooperate with product managers, product ownersto create and delivery digital business value.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor orabove degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related major isrequired.

  • At least 5 years work experience, at least 2 years in software development, at least 3 yeas in ScurmMaster/Agile Coach.

  • Advaced knowledge in agile mindset and agile practices, experienced in Scurm and DevOps, SAFe experience is a plus.

  • Advancedknowledge in Java, familiar with Python is a plus.

  • Experencedon at least two popular internet and big-data technologies, such asmicro-service, Redis, Flink, Storm, HBase, Spark, Hadoop, Kafka etc.

  • Workableoral and aural English.

  • Azure/AWSexperience is a plus

  • Continuous Delivery Pipeline - Implements the workflows, activities, and automation by providing the enterprise with the capability to shepherd a new piece of functionality all the way from ideation to an on-demand release of value to the end user.

  • Planning and Managing Ceremonies - Plans, schedules, and leads ceremonies that create a cadence for the team to maximize productivity, promote collaboration, maintain transparency, and inspect and adapt so the team can continuously learn and improve.

  • Release Planning - Plans and manages the release of capabilities, features or products using inputs from the prioritized roadmap, planning, available resources and skills to communicate expected availability and releases of capability.

  • Project Management - Establishes and maintains the balance of scope, schedule and resources for a temporary effort (a "project").

  • Business insight - Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization’s goals.

  • Global perspective - Taking a broad view when approaching issues, using a global lens.

  • Manages conflict - Handling conflict situations effectively, with a minimum of noise.

  • Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in business or relevant technology-related program is required.

  • Agile Certification (Certified Scrum Master - CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or Safe Scrum Master Certification (SSM) are highly preferred.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
