2018 Campus Hire - Reliability Engineer 可靠性工程师



  • Applies basic knowledge of statistical and reliability tools to analyze existing and proposed component or system reliability, and assists in reporting of the reliability per the customer's reporting requirements. Applies basic knowledge of accelerated life testing and life data analysis techniques to statistically quantify the reliability impact of design changes. Applies basic knowledge to assigned tasks in new product reliability standard work to ensure products meet reliability targets, including new product reliability assurance, parenting and reliability improvement plans, design failure modes and effects analysis, design verification planning and reporting, failure reporting and corrective action systems, and new product reliability assessments. Works with other engineering disciplines to resolve product issues. Helps to evaluates customer needs and aligns specifications with identified customer expectations.

  • Applies engineering and/or scientific skills to technical processes with support from experienced team members.

  • Participates as a team member, helps define/refine methods and actively contributes towards team goals.

  • Carries out engineering responsibilities using accepted methods and practical experience.

  • Demonstrates good understanding and applies knowledge of an engineering disciplines.

  • Six Sigma - Understand the basic principles of the Six Sigma program and participated on a Six Sigma project team.

  • Integrated Design Failure Mode And Effects Analysis (IDFMEA) - Familiar with the overall iDFMEA process and the basic purposes of a boundary diagram, functional analysis, P-diagram, and the DFMEA. Able to read and understand the information on a previously completed iDFMEA.

  • 7 Step Product Problem Solving Process - Understands the purpose, the steps, definitions, general requirements and the intended application of the process to resolve product problems and is able to interpret reports/results from problem solving efforts.

  • Reliability Terms And Measures - Basic knowledge of reliability terminology and measures for cost, failure rate, and time between failures. Understands failure rate behaviors and the bathtub curve. Can describe the uses of reliability data in improvement activities.

  • Statistical Methods - Creates confidence intervals on mean and variance. Understands differences between normal (Z) and t-distribution. Is familiar with Type I and Type II errors and probabilities of making them. Uses p-values to reject/fail to reject the null hypothesis for 1-sample Z or t, 2-sample t, and paired t-tests. Understands assumptions for comparing means and the tradeoffs between alpha, beta, sample size and detectable difference. Can create a regression model and make predictions, interpret statistical results, assess adequacy of model fit, and understand model assumptions. Calculates correlation between data sets. Fits the best multiple regression. Compares regression lines to test for different slopes and intercepts. Is familiar with what ANOVA is used to determine, its concepts and statistical assumptions, and exploratory analytical/graphical techniques available.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology required.


  • Minimal relevant work experience desired, such as internship, co-op, or other pertinent work experience.
